Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Phone coming to India

The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition is available now in China and Europe (with restrictions), but it looks that it might launch in India as well, if we are to believe the rumors.

Yes of course it’s difficult to give attention to rumors, but the guy who provided the information has a good track record when it comes to things like this, so we might just as well believe what he is saying, until it is revealed officially.

Canonical has an Ubuntu insiders program made out of people who get some of the devices ahead of time in order to test them, but the same people also get some interesting details about the future plans of the company. For example, one of the guys in this exclusive group shared some info about an upcoming (supposedly) integration of Whatsapp in the operating system. It’s not a done deal, and it might now happen in that exact way, but at least we know that they are trying.

Availability of Meizu MX4 Ubuntu phone in India:

Couple of weeks back the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu edition launched in Europe through invitation campaign. So it’s really very hard to imagine that Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition will be available in great numbers in India.

The exact availability options may vary when it will be announced officially (if at all).

This is what Ubuntu insider Sturm Flut noted on Google+:

“#ubuntuphone is getting ready to launch in India. But I already gave you that hint, right?”

And he then followed with a comment to a user:

“Well, MEIZU wants to launch the MX4 with Flyme in India, it supports the 4G frequencies in India, so it is likely the MX4.”

It’s not certain information, but we can only hope that Ubuntu will be extending in India. Still then you can have your thoughts in the comments section.
