Google announced the latest Android 4.4 version as KitKat
Most people reading this blog must have heard of ANDROID.
If not, then let me tell you in one sentence that ANDROID is an Operating System initially designed for mobile phones and currently it powers more than a billion of such mobile devices like mobile phones and Tablets.
And as you all know that the Mobile OS war has already began and Android is all set to be ahead in the war by announcing the release of an all new era in mobile OS.
Starting from the origin android versions has been named alphabetically and based on Pastries or dessert names as follows:
- Cupcake : Android version 1.5
- Donut : Android version 1.6
- Eclair : Android version 2.0
- Froyo : Android version 2.2
- Gingerbread : Android version 2.3
- Honeycomb : Android version 3.0
- Ice Cream Sandwich : Android version 4.0
- Jelly Bean : Android version 4.1
- K***** : Android version 4.4
Google announced the latest Android version after the permission of Nestlé and Hershey as ANDROID KITKAT version 4.4 on 3 September 2013 with a release date set for October.
The release had long been expected to be numbered 5.0 and called ‘Key Lime Pie’ but it seems to be they came up with a lil surprise.

Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean.
