How to disable comments in WordPress

Recently I was searching for how to disable comments in WordPress for some of the pages in my website like the “About Us” page and the “Contact Us” page where I don’t want people to comment. Disabling the comments is really a simple process but I got the solution after searching for around half an hour, so I thought to write one.

One of the worst solution is I will monitor for all the comments on these pages and move to trash. That really sounds weird, isn’t it???

You can either disable comments completely on the WordPress hosted website or you can disable comments for some of the specific pages or posts.

How to disable comments in WordPress for specific page or post

How to completely disable comments in WordPress hosted website

If you want to disable comments at all in your WordPress hosted website, meaning, if you want to disable comments in all pages and posts then this will be the option for you.

Don’t ever think that you will go to each post and page and then disable the comments. I mean, that’s really foolish.

WordPress has an option for that also. To disable comments complete on your website just head over ti the below location on your WordPress admin page:

Settings > Discussion

Go to Settings and then Discussion
Go to Settings and then Discussion

In the Discussion Settings page and under Default article settings section there is an option:
Allow people to post comments on new articles

You just have to uncheck this option and then no other comments will be shown on your website.
