Install Custom recovery on HTC One M9
If you have not yet installed a custom recovery on HTC One M9 then head on to the next link to get it done.

Installing Maximus HD HTC One M9 custom ROM:
Files needed for the Maximus HD ROM:
2.7.401.1 Firmware download link (Works with S-OFF devices ONLY)
Maximus HD HTC One M9 ROM download link
Copy the Maximus HD ROM zip file to your phone memory (By using a USB cable or via adb push command).
Enter into download mode by pressing (Power + Volume Down) or else do the following:
To go to the recovery type the following command from a PC installed with adb and USB driver:
$ adb reboot bootloader
Then enter into the recovery mode from the bootloader mode.
Then do Wipe Data/Factory Reset
NOTE:
This step will delete all your data.
Consider backup your all data out of your phone.

Select the Install Zip from SDcard or “Choose zip from sdcard” option.
-> If you are not on the base firmware 2.7.401.1, then select the base Firmware zip file where you have kept in the phone memory and follow the AROMA installer instructions.
Do the same for the Maximus HD ROM zip after you install the base firmware.
The flashing may take a while. When it will be done you can reboot your system and enjoy the Maximus HD HTC One M9 custom ROM based on Android 5.1.1.
