World’s first firefox OS based, most affordable, feature packed phone launched in India: Intex Cloud FX

World’s first Firefox OS has first been launched in India exclusively through under the flagship of Intex.
It seems to be Mozilla has started entering to the market at very entry level where no other smartphone manufacturers are playing for instance.
Mozilla recently joined hands with Spreadtrum, a chinese fabless semiconductor company to bring low cost smartphones to the market.

Today is a day where Android has gained such a popularity that it is really very tough for any other smartphone OS to challenge.
Even I can say that it has won the battle against Apple iOS within very short span of time.

Ex-Nokia employees made Sailfish OS based Jolla smartphone which was unable to get the spark to establish itself… at least for now.
Even the first Tizen OS powered phone: Samsung Z was announced a couple of months back but it didn’t hit the market yet to see the response.
But yes of course the Mozilla Firefox OS has brought very unique features to offer the customers and has definitely made a smart move to establish itself.

Intex Cloud FX is the first first Mozilla Firefox OS based phone is available exclusively trough Indian e-commerce website, which I must admit that the world’s most affordable and feature packed phone which will give you complete value for your money.

Key Features of Intex Cloud FX :

  • 3.5 inch capacitive touch display
  • 1GHz CPU
  • 128MB RAM
  • 2.0 MP camera
  • Firefox OS 1.3
  • 1250 mAh battery

The look and appeal of the device:

The physical dimension of this devices reports 115.9x62x11.8mm as the dimensions and it weighs 104gm.
As per the current market’s large screen devices, this phone has a quite larger display of 3.5 inch at a price tag of INR 1,999 or approximately $30USD.
Overall the look and design of this phone is quite appealing and the Firefox OS really adds value against the price tag.

Chipset: The core of the device

Spreadtrum chipsets are new to the market as Qualcomm, Mediatek, Nvidia Tegra and Exynos were mostly sitting in the core of most of the hand help smartphone devices around you.
Recently Spreadtrum and Mozilla joined hands to deliver the Open Web Devices to underserved audiences by introducing entry level phones.
They have a target to deliver entry level cost phones at a price of $25.
So depending on the price segment the chipset specification looks really great but yes this will give you the true value for money.

Final words:

This the world’s first Firefox OS phone that has been introduced under the flagship of Intex in India.
Firefox targets the very entry level in the market.

You can have a look in the market for existing phones at this price tag and see what other brands offer you.
To me what it looks is, it provides you WiFi, FM radio, e-mail applications with a quite bigger capacitive touch dispaly at a price of just INR 1,999/-
So there is no doubt that this is the showstopper at the very entry level smartphone market segment that Firefox OS has brought for the world.
